Accept no imitations
April edition
Introduction:
I am writing this issue while sick at home. That’s right the almighty Tim is sick. Anyway, a lot of new stuff is up. Goth Punk is out and Ska, reggae, rock steady, and rock is in. With all this good weather lately, do I really want to depressed? So happier music is in. New stuff in the issue. Read and enjoy.
Current events: I quit Co-Op. So what? I gave up a good job and lots of money for happiness. Fair exchange? I leave that to the philosophers. All I know is that I am a lot happier. Of course, I cannot work at Biomet again until I graduate but who cares? I can collect cans for a living. If it is good enough for the homeless, it is good enough for me.
National News: Do you feel down in the dumps, sad depressed? Need a girlfriend? I have heard this really great deal. All you have to do is blow yourself up in the middle of a busy Jewish neighborhood in Israel and you can live in Paradise with 72, that’s right 72, virgins. If you think this deal is for YOU, you are out of your FUCKING mind. If your are that sad and pathetic and have to blow yourself and kill innocent people to get a girlfriend you must really suck, really bad. Even worse than me. So, just get courage and ask that lady out you want and if she says no there are other fish in the ocean. And remember Jews are just like us, only circumcised.
Technology news: Tim has finally started to learn C++ programming. Is it hard? I have no clue. While sick today, I decided that I was really bored and needed something to day, so I started C++ programming. That is about all.
Auto week: Tim is currently saving for a new car. Give me money.
Living Conditions: Life at home! What a bore! Have to listen to parents yelling at me for quitting my job. Luckily, I have money in the bank. Only 18 weeks till no more parents once again. Tim does not know where he will be living in the fall. May not be returning to 1st floor. I have lost my most favored status with the university, so I cannot choose where I live.
Work: Job? Who needs a Job? If the homeless do not, why do I?
Internship Opportunities for You: Biomet still has not hired. You still have a chance to get job. If you have not applied, too bad.
Social Life: Tim was going to go see a band play. A ska band at that!! The band is the “Skammunists.” It sucks to be sick. Still know one to hang out with up here. I am bored.
Music: Tim is trying something new. Are YOU tired of having TRL telling you what to listen to? Sick of having them only play crappy music? Need someone else to tell you what to listen to? Well now you can listen to what I listen to. Introducing Tim’s top five albums of the months.
Rank Song Album Artist
1 Start the Fire “Rock Steady” No Doubt
2 Open Up “Who Are We Living For?” Dispatch
3 Water Mark “Left and Leaving” The Weakerthans
4 Rivers of Babylon “40oz. To Freedom” Sublime
5 On the Roof Again “Horrorscope” Eve6
So know you know what I am listen too lately. 3/5 of the bands up on the list have a Jamaican influence in the music they play. If you know any good ska, reggae, rock steady, or dub music email about the band. I know this seems like a sudden change in musical style but it is in fact not. If some of you may remember, last fall before I left I said that I was getting into reggae and ska music. However, the depressing Indiana winter got to me.
Will I still be listening to these cds next month? Stay tuned…
Messages to people: Tim will be coming down on the 20th of April. I need a place to sleep. Also if anyone knows any good ska, reggae, dub, or rock steady groups, email me about it.
